AND THE WINNER IS...
The Limelight Film Awards took place on Thursday the 14th of June at the Troxy, in East London. The annual red carpet-paparazzi covered gala, with champagne reception was attended by over 500 film makers, celebrities and film / media personalities.

Limelight Film Awards is the annual short film awards ceremony that identifies and celebrates emerging film talent. “This year we received the largest number of submissions, over 265 films,” says founder and CEO Munsur Ali. Guests were welcomed on the red carpet paparazzi covered strip, with photo and video coverage, followed by a champagne reception, before guests were seated at the ornamented tables. The show was opened by host Kat Boyce (MTV Base, Choice FM), while authentic Indian finger food platters were served. |

Filmmakers from across the UK and beyond were joined by industry professionals in a two and a half hour show, including live performances by Living the Dream with a solo opening by Renako Mcdonald (Got To Dance), Koo Read (The Voice UK), Luc Skyz (Rapper), Kirstenana (Best Female at the People's Music Awards) and Andy Abraham (Platinum selling artist from X Factor, Eurovision) Drama, Documentary, Comedy were just some of the 14 awards categories, alongside the prestigious ‘Film of the Night’ award, which is the £10,000 production award, was won by Mile End Community Project for their film ‘Hood Forts.’ |
“We are absolutely ecstatic to have won. Limelight Film Awards has shown us that real opportunities exist, which means a lot to our young film makers especially in a challenging area of Tower Hamlets,” says Nurull Islam, Project Manager. Mile End Community Project is a voluntary organisation set up to equip and educate help local young people. Limelight is paving the way in identifying emerging British film makers while helping to strengthen the industry. |
